Privacy and Local Data

Understand how Chukke handles workspace content, settings, history, diagnostics, and optional sharing.

Chukke has no account, advertising, telemetry, or tracking. Core application data is stored locally. Optional provider and support workflows share only the content you explicitly approve and send.

User-owned documents

Your Markdown and text documents remain at their original locations. Opening an individual document does not copy it into the active workspace or Chukke app data. Intentional workspace templates under .chukke/templates also remain in the workspace.

Application-owned local data

Chukke’s macOS application-data container can hold:

  • versioned settings
  • recent-workspace authorization bookmarks
  • recent-file authorization bookmarks
  • personal templates
  • bounded local history
  • sanitized diagnostics

Settings provide controls for resetting preferences, clearing history, and clearing diagnostics. Removing or clearing Recent Workspaces or Recent Files removes only saved authorization metadata and never deletes user documents.

Diagnostics

Diagnostic logs contain fixed technical event codes and system information. They exclude documents, prompts, model responses, credentials, filenames, workspace and external-file paths, provider endpoints, settings, and raw error text.

Logs are retained for no more than seven days and capped at 10 MB in total.

Optional provider sharing

Assist shows the provider, endpoint, model, source scope, and exact Markdown payload before sending document content. The content is sent only after confirmation and is then subject to the selected provider’s own privacy and retention terms. The separate Settings connection test sends a short provider check and any configured API key, but no document content. Canonical external-file paths remain local recognition information and are not added to provider payloads.

Optional support sharing

Issue reports and feedback are user initiated. Chukke creates an unsent, reviewable email draft and never sends it automatically. You decide whether to include a sanitized diagnostics ZIP and whether to send the email.

Read the complete Privacy Policy before using optional provider or support sharing.
