Chukke Privacy Policy

Last updated: September 16, 2026

Chukke is a local-first Markdown desktop application. It has no Chukke account, advertising, telemetry, or tracking.

Website and hosting

This website is hosted by Hostinger. When you visit it, Hostinger's infrastructure may process standard request information such as your IP address, request time, requested page, browser or user-agent information, referring page, and security or operational events. Hostinger handles that information under its own service terms and retention practices. Chukke does not add analytics, advertising, tracking pixels, or third-party runtime scripts to this website.

The website does not set cookies. If you choose a Light or Dark theme instead of following your system setting, your browser stores that choice locally under chukke-theme. The preference stays in your browser and is not sent to Chukke.

Information stored on your Mac

Chukke reads and writes documents only in workspaces you select. Your Markdown documents and workspace templates remain in those folders. Chukke stores app settings, personal templates, recent-workspace authorization bookmarks, and local document history in its macOS application-data container. History is a recovery convenience, not a backup: it is coalesced to one retained version per five minutes, limited to 50 versions per document, and capped at 500 MB overall.

Chukke also keeps sanitized local diagnostics for troubleshooting. Diagnostic records contain fixed technical event codes and system information. They exclude documents, prompts, model responses, credentials, filenames, workspace paths, provider endpoints, settings, and raw error text. Diagnostic logs are retained for no more than seven days and are capped at 10 MB in total.

Model providers

Assist is optional. Before sending document content, Chukke shows the selected provider, endpoint, model, source scope, and exact Markdown payload for your confirmation. The confirmed payload is sent only to the provider you selected, which may be a local Ollama service or a third-party provider such as an OpenAI-compatible service, Anthropic, or Google Gemini. The separate Settings connection test sends a short provider-specific check and any configured API key, but no document content or payload preview.

The provider receives the content you explicitly approve and processes it under its own privacy and retention terms. Chukke does not control a third-party provider's retention. Review the selected provider's policy before confirming a request. API keys for non-local providers are kept in memory for the current app session only and are not written to Chukke settings.

Support and feedback

Reporting an issue or sharing feedback is optional and user initiated. Chukke opens an unsent email draft addressed to the Chukke team and never sends mail automatically. Your email provider may share your email address and the content you choose to send with Chukke's support mailbox.

For an issue report, you may include a sanitized diagnostics ZIP. Chukke always asks where to save it. You can inspect it, attach it manually when required, continue without diagnostics, or cancel. Chukke receives your email address, report content, and diagnostics only if you choose to send the message. This information is used for app functionality and support, is linked to your support request, and is not used for tracking.

Deletion and withdrawing consent

You can withdraw a pending model-provider request before it completes. You can disable Assist or stop using a configured provider at any time. Chukke does not store provider API keys across sessions.

You control your documents and exported diagnostics through Finder. In Chukke Settings, you can reset preferences, clear local history, and clear diagnostic logs. Clearing Recents removes stored recent-workspace authorizations. Removing the app and its macOS application-data container deletes remaining Chukke-owned settings, bookmarks, personal templates, history, and diagnostics; it does not delete documents or workspace templates in folders you own.

For deletion of information you previously emailed to support, contact support@quantarho.com from the same address and identify the request.
